A timid entry

I spent the night on the couch trying to sleep due to the pains I have been having in my face (Most likely sinus) and because Lisa's normal sleeping sounds were keeping me awake. (I would barely get to sleep and she would roll over and I would wake up again.) So I'm out on the couch trying to get some sleep and manage the sinus pain. I was getting down because I wanted this to be a great weekend where I could spend some time with friends and family AND be pain free, but that isn't happening. Needless to say this has made me somewhat frustrated.

I was greeted this morning, when I checked my email, by numerous encouragements and well wishers for my health. It was very encouraging.

God provides. He provides healing, He provides trials to bring us closer to Himself, He provides peace, He provides Doctors, and He provides the support I need in friends and family.

This cancer is the biggest hurdle I have ever had to go through in my life this far. There is no way I can make it over on my own. I know God is there, but I also think He has provided all of you to help me as well.

Am I scared of the surgery ahead of me? Yes I am, the recovery isn't going to be easy, but I ask that you will all pray for healing and strength for me as I go into this.

Thanks everyone for the support and the words of encouragement. Praise the Lord for He is good.

    Good morning Ben!
    I am Gabriela, Gruia's mom. My husband Radu, and our small group will be praying for you too.
    My verses for you this morning are from Psalm 91:

    14 "Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him;
    I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.

    15 He will call upon me, and I will answer him;
    I will be with him in trouble,
    I will deliver him and honor him.

    16 With long life will I satisfy him
    and show him my salvation."

    They are so many promises, and so little required from these verses.
    The requirements: love the Lord, acknowledge His name, and call upon Him. The promises...well, you just read them, and take them into your heart. May our Lord give you His joy, which will give you strength. (Nehemiah 8: 10: “…the joy of the LORD is your strength.")

    With Love in Him, Your sister in Christ,
