I'm a tool

"A sick saint is often used by God far more than the most eloquent preacher. When people see how willingly you submit to the divine will, how patiently you endure painful operations, and how God your Maker gives you songs in the night (Job 35:10), you are greatly used. [...] You who can do no more than simply sit at Jesus' feet and listen to His words, will not be neglected or overlooked." - C.H. Spurgeon

In today's modern language being called a "tool" isn't a good thing. It's funny the slang use of the word "tool" means that you are being used (and foolish) and you don't even know it. Is there modern slang for being used AND knowing it?

I know I am being used by God. I don't know to what end that usage will take, but I figure if God wants to use me as a tool that He is probably building His kingdom. I won't get a glimpse of that until after this life, but while I am here I figure I had try and be the best "Tool" there is. And you know what, by a bunch of other people's standards I probably will be viewed as a "tool" (modern slang). I guess it's all a matter of perspective. I wouldn't doubt that putting more faith in God than in the doctors probably would seem like foolishness to a lot of people.

Yes, that's right: I'm a Tool.

Praise the Lord, Ben, that God has made you His tool! I think as Christians we desire to be used by God, but you are really living it friend. I'll keep praying that you and this cancer will be a huge power tool and that people who visit this blog are encouraged in Him.
